Lapworth Architects are, first and foremost, honest, hard-working architects looking to improve their clients’ lives with top-notch design, fantastic service and great value for money. Our team’s qualifications from the best universities in the country and their hard work and dedication translate into top-quality drawings.
We are also experts in architecture and the built environment and we pride ourselves on our designs and our attention to detail, with team members specialised in planning, heritage restoration and contemporary developments.
Every member of the team of architects and planning consultants work hard to ensure you get the best quality-to-cost ratio in the most efficient way we can.
Our team of dedicated project architects, qualified architectural assistants and support staff are on hand to help you at every step of the process, whether you’re needing an extension, developing land or designing a new build house.
As one of Birmingham’s top architectural firms, we have plenty of experience in both residential and commercial architecture, and a great balance of conceptual design, technical expertise and attentive service.
Lapworth Architects Limited, formerly the Lapworth Partnership, was founded in 1989, operating from offices based in the Edgbaston area of Birmingham, before moving to the city centre. Our practice has a long-standing client base and we’ve worked in many sectors on hundreds of projects around the West Midlands.
Our designs have brought period and listed buildings back to life and use, have preserved their architectural merit and enhanced their surroundings. As specialists, we also work on green belt projects and on mixed-use developments, delivering luxury homes and comfortable townhouses on time and on budget.
Our focus is on housing, but our expertise and experience in both planning and architecture means that we have education, retail, commercial and industrial projects in our portfolio. Collaborations have involved supermarket chains, residents, borough councils, small and medium business owners from the Cotswolds to Staffordshire, and everywhere in between.
We work to create executive high-spec homes in sensitive developments that improve their surroundings with quality urban design and public realm spaces.
Our new build schemes vary from spacious bungalows in the green belt to mansion apartments and townhouses in spa towns. Comfort, sustainability, efficiency and vernacular materials are the key to our success in these projects.
Our conservation-led designs across the region ensure the architectural heritage of the heart of England remains in use and of benefit to the public – Haseley Manor near Warwick, Hagley Hall in Worcestershire and Simpsons restaurant in Edgbaston are just two examplesof our prize-winning work in this area.
The commercial and retail work we have done often involves creating appropriately scaled stores in context-specific urban and suburban locations, and even in listed buildings.
Our experience in planning guidance in this area means we have worked extensively with well-known brands to develop attractive and locally appropriate stores where other design firms have been unable to secure the planning needed.
Our 30 years' experience in Birmingham, with hundreds of projects under our belt, are our guarantee of quality and customer service.
